My Day of Motorways and A Roads

So today I set off on my way slowly to Norwich. I say slowly not because of the length of the journey from St. Helens to Norwich, which SPOILER ALERT is very long, but because that is not the only journey I made today. Again… it’s been a long day!

The delicious lunch!

So, we woke up, all got packed and ready to leave and went downstairs to find a delicious bacon buttie for each of us made by my uncle. This allowed us some time to chat around the table and exchange more funny stories before we had to say goodbye properly. After some chat and banter, we said our goodbyes to our family and headed off back to Liverpool. This time it was not for a university visit or exploring the city, but because we were going to see my dad’s oldest friend (my godfather) and his family. They made us a delicious lunch and lots of tasty cakes! We had a good old natter and catch up, it was great to see them!

Later we said our goodbyes here too and got back in the car for the long trip to Norwich. To be fair, it was a beautiful, scenic journey it just took forever! Norwich really is in the middle of nowhere, however, this was a lovely change from the big city and London-Brighton commuter line that I’m used to!

Everything unpacked!

Once I arrived in my AirBnB, I was kindly welcomed by the owner as she showed me my room and chatted to me about my internship. She seems lovely and I’m so glad that I picked her accommodation over others. She assured me that it was a short walk into the city centre and an even shorter walk to the bus stop to get me to the John Innes Centre. As such, I unloaded my suitcases into my room and set off on the town to explore and eat something for Father’s Day dinner with my family. She was right! The walk was extremely short (10 minutes) considering we were in quite a suburban area and we found many places to eat and drink, I think I’m really going to like it here! Following my parents’ departure back home I unpacked my things and nestled into my new comfy abode!

I’m so excited to start my internship tomorrow, I’ll keep you all posted!
